Abstract

The paper offers a comprehensive and exhaustive examination of the creative heritage of Fatih Amirkhan (1886–1926), an outstanding classic of Tatar literature, publicist, and professional journalist, within the context of the historical evolution of his publications across various multi-volume editions of the Soviet and post- Soviet periods. The study places particular emphasis on the new fundamental six-volume academic collection of “Works” by the writer, which was prepared by a group of textual scholars from the G. Ibragimov Institute of Language, Literature and Art, Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. The subject of scholarly and critical interpretation is the specificity of representation of the fiction corpus, socio- political journalism, historical-literary works, the author’s translation experience, as well as ego-documents: diaries, epistolary heritage, memoirs, and archival sources of F. Amirkhan. The article aims to trace in detail and consistently the long history of publication of the writer’s rich literary heritage, to precisely determine the composition, structure, and scholarly significance of the new six-volume collection, and to identify its key role in the context of further academic study of the history of Tatar literature and national public thought of the early 20th century. The scientific novelty of the research is determined by a systemic approach to the description of the specified academic edition as the most complete, representative, and textually verified corpus of F. Amirkhan’s texts at the current stage, which includes valuable archival materials previously not introduced into scholarly circulation, and authentic texts that have not yet been adapted to the modern graphic system. As a result of the conducted work, a well-founded conclusion is drawn that the new six-volume collection of works forms a fundamental, verified, and reliable source for subsequent interdisciplinary historical-literary, textual, historical-linguistic, and comparative studies, determining the vectors of development of modern national philological knowledge and opening new research perspectives in the field of academic comprehension of the national historical and cultural process. The outlined scholarly approach allows to significantly expand the theoretical basis of modern domestic literary criticism and to outline further strategies for studying the textual criticism of national literatures.
