Instructions for reviewing or correcting articles
In accordance with the recommendations of the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Association of Scientific Editors and Publishers, retraction is recognized as a mechanism for correcting published information and informing readers when a publication contains serious flaws or erroneous data that cannot be trusted.
Members of the editorial board are responsible for the publication of articles with known signs of unethical conduct, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, excessive self-citation by authors, and conflicts of interest. If the principles of publication and/or scientific ethics were violated during the writing of an article, the journal's scientific editor, based on a decision by the editorial board, must proceed with the retraction of the publication. Articles may be retracted by the author(s) or the journal's editorial board. The editorial board withdraws published articles in cases of violation of publication and/or scientific ethics, relying on COPE recommendations.
An article is retracted/withdrawn in the following cases:
-
Evidence that the presented data are unreliable or obtained through misconduct, e.g., data fabrication;
-
Discovery that the manuscript was published in another outlet before its publication in the present journal;
-
Detection of plagiarism in the article, including unauthorized borrowing of figures, graphs, tables, etc.;
-
Presence of significant errors in the article that could negatively impact other scientists and their research, e.g., a miscalculation or experimental error;
-
Claims of copyright to the article or its parts by third parties;
-
Presence of information in the article that contradicts the principles, standards, and norms of publication and/or scientific ethics.
In the above cases, the journal's editorial board conducts an investigation, following which the article may be retracted/withdrawn from publication. An act of retraction is prepared for this purpose, confirmed, and signed by the scientific editor. A copy of the act is sent to the author of the article.
Subsequently, the article is marked as retracted on the journal's website with an indication of the reasons. The editorial board publishes information about the article's withdrawal on the journal's main page and, following the withdrawal procedure, includes information about it in a subsequent issue of the journal.
The journal's editorial board responsibly, objectively, and attentively considers all substantiated appeals regarding identified violations in published issues.
The editorial board considers it the responsibility and duty of authors and reviewers to inform the editorial board as promptly as possible about any mistakes or violations they discover after the material has been published.
